Calhoun County First Steps Board Seeks Dedicated Community Members to Serve on its Board
Calhoun County First Steps to School Readiness, a non-profit partnership, was established September 24, 1999. The Partnership’s goals are to (1) provide parents with access to the support they might seek and want to strengthen their families and to promote the optimal development of their preschool children; (2) increase comprehensive services so children have reduced risk for major physical, developmental, and learning problems; and (3) provide services so all children receive the protection, nutrition and health care needed to thrive in the early years of life so they arrive at school ready to learn.
The Calhoun First Steps Board is appealing to the following community members to serve on its board: pre- kindergarten through primary educator, family education and support providers, childcare or early childhood development/educator providers, health care providers, local government, non-profit organization that provides services to families and children, faith community, business community, philanthropic community, and parents of preschool children.
